I really encourage and suggest the continuity of this program, as I strongly believe that this program will benefit and enable many young ophthalmologists be a better doctor in the future, as I myself experienced.

With this email, I would like to provide details of my great experience and valuable benefits after completion of my observership program at Department of Ophthalmology, Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, Japan, during from November 15th, 2015 to November 28th, 2015. With support from ACS Santen grant, I am able to accomplish my objective and detail of this achievement is provided here.

According to my achievement, as previously clarified in my application form of ACS Santen grant, I wanted to learn about ocular surface disease, limbal stem cell transplantation, lamellar keratoplasty and advanced contact lens fitting. During the period, I attended and observed many patients with multiple complex corneal and ocular surface disease in clinics and grand round activities. Professor Kinoshita and other staffs kindly taught me about guideline to approach and manage those complicated patients. Moreover, I also attended Assoc. Prof. Yokoi's dry eye clinic. He is truly an expert in caring dry eye patients. He kindly advised me about the details of Tear Film Oriented Therapy (TFOT) and many of new technologies for investigating patients with dry eyes. Furthermore, I also observed at a contact lens clinic, where I had a chance to observe a lot of keratoconus cases. All of staffs at the clinic kindly demonstrated me about technique of contact lens fitting and methods to modify shapes of contact lens. All of knowledge and experiences from every clinics amazed me and kept me very interested.

In addition to knowledges from clinics, I also gained several experiences from many types of operation, including DSAEK or Femtosecond laser assisted keratoplasty. I strongly believe that all of new experiences will play a major role in helping me develop my skill-set especially my patient care skill.

Finally, I would like to offer my sincerest thanks for every staffs at Department of Ophthalmology, KPUM, especially, Prof. Kinoshita, Prof. Sotozono, Assoc. Prof Inatomi, Assoc. Prof Yokoi and Dr.Nakamura. They all are very impressive teachers. Although they have many jobs in their clinics, they still devoted their time to kindly support me on both my educational training and my well-being during my stay in Japan. Moreover, I would like to express my gratitude towards ACS Santen grant for their generosity. With both support from KPUM and ACS Santen grant, I have received the great experience and many benefits, which enable me to improve my patient care skill. I really encourage and suggest the continuity of this program, as I strongly believe that this program will benefit and enable many young ophthalmologists be a better doctor in the future, as I myself experienced.
